This turned out to be mistake on the part of IFP, my fiscal sponsor; apparently the donation was intended for another project. Seven months later, they simply took the money out of my account, without even telling me. I had to pursue an explanation. A little bit demoralizing to think someone believed in the project enough to want to anonymously support it to such an extent; to live with that for all that time, and then find out it was a mistake. I sent them a thank you card. That’s probably how the mistake was discovered. It’s a good thing I hadn’t spent the money yet.
